Access Advisor

Veronica is honored to support students and faculty in creating inclusive and vibrant learning environments all over campus. Veronica holds a doctorate in English literature from the University of Oregon, with research interests in disability studies, graphic narrative, and aesthetics of environmental justice. She has eight years of teaching experience at the college level, concentrating on college writing and literature at the UO and at the University of Montana. She received the Outstanding Composition Teacher award from the UO composition program in 2014. In addition to teaching, Veronica has worked in a variety of capacities of academic support, serving as a student writing tutor, ADHD coach, and a mentor for new composition teachers. Her pedagogy centers on the power of play, exploration, and collaboration in the learning process.

As an AEC access advisor, Veronica meets directly with students to help remove barriers to course content and to develop resilient time management skills and study plans. She also enjoys collaborating with faculty and staff on universal design questions and best practices. Veronica is passionate about helping to promote a critical consciousness of disability and academic equity at UO. She is always looking for new opportunities to partner with campus programs on behalf of AEC students!

Outside of AEC, Veronica enjoys studying fiber arts, lavender cultivation, swimming, and hiking the Hobbit Trail at the Oregon coast with her family.
