Class policies and expectations can sometimes create barriers for students with disabilities. AEC may approve accommodations that adjust specific policies or practices to ensure students have equitable access to their courses. These accommodations are determined through an individualized, interactive process and can include (but are not limited to):
- Access to food and/or drinks during class
- Breaks during class
- Computer in class
- Permission to record lectures
- Flexibility on assignment deadlines when necessary due to a disability-related event
- Flexibility with attendance policy when necessary due to a disability-related event
